On the easel

It’s been a while since I have posted anything on my blog …well, it’s been a while since I have been inspired to paint after the passing of my father. It has been a real struggle to get myself back into the groove of things, just going back to my everyday routine; working out, having a dedicated painting time and just being inspired to paint has been a real issue. I struggled with internal sadness and then I got ill and had some outpatient procedure to “fix me” but that brought more ailments and then Christmas came and we all had the flu. Well, anyways I started painting casually and that painting, another floral was completed which, I’ll post separately. Currently, I’ve pushed myself to do a portrait, which I don’t do well with them but, anyways I figure I have to push myself and this one was a request from my husband almost a year ago.  I think it’s time to complete since this incredibly talented person passed this past year, the same year my father and quite a few well-known people passed away.

Workings on the David Bowie portrait.

Started with a rough sketch on canvas, had a difficult time with placement and proportion

Starting to add paint, this painting will be in black and white for the most part
