Lavender Lotion Bars

Someone was interested in my Lavender Lotion/Salve after reading my Six of Saturday post, so I’m excited to share it here.

I snagged this recipe awhile back from Southern Living:

Lavender Lotion bars

Materials:
¼ cup coconut oil (or) almond oil, olive oil (your preference)
¼ cup beeswax
½ cup Shea butter
Lavender essential oil
Fresh lavender

Silicon molds or tin containers

Spoon
Microwave-safe bowl
Directions:
Combine coconut oil, beeswax and Shea butter in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in
30 second increments, stirring in between. Continue until completely dissolved.
Add 6 drops of essential oil to the mixture and stir. Sprinkle fresh lavender in the molds.
Pour the mixture into the molds. Fill to the top.
Let the mold sit for 30 minutes. If you want to speed up the process put in the
refrigerator for 15 minutes. Store in a sealed glass container to preserve moisture.
RELATED:
To use: Rub bar on hands and then rub the lotion into your skin.
Other ideas for scenting: Rose petals, cocoa, citrus essential oil, mint leaves

*You could add a few Lavender flowers while in microwave to extract some of those oils.
*You could also do this in a double boiler – your preference.
You will love it… I put it in cute molds and wrap them in parchment, cute for gifting also.

Take a look around!
