I’ve been really happy that two of my Lavender plants have produced a nice amount of flowers to make sachets. I originally had purchased 4 plants and 2 did not make it but 2 did and I hope they make it through the winter but just in a case I started planting seeds for Lavender and they have sprouted but not sure if they will be successful, I did some research and found out that Lavender plants can be made from cuttings. I did some home work and you would need to use root hormone but I really don’t like to use that stuff so…I did more research and some people are using honey to root the cuttings of plants because honey has antifungal and antibacterial properties. I decide to give it a try and see what happens.
I took five clippings and cleaned off approx. 1inch of the bottom and scratched the stem with my nail downward just to break the outer layer of the stem and dipped it in honey then, planted it in a Dixie cup with potting mix. They will be sitting on a window sill that has plenty of light. I’ll keep an eye on it for any growth which should happen anywhere between 2 – 4 weeks.
